UNBELIEVABLE: Philippe Clement finally sign his resignation letter and set to join….

Philippe Clement has welcomed the SFA fronting up to their cup final penalty clanger, but reckons they were left with no option after not following the rules.

The fallout from the penalty Rangers didn’t get in stoppage time of last Sunday’s 3-3 draw at Hampden, with Celtic going to win on spot-kicks, has rumbled on ever since. The SFA top brass, as well as refs chief Willie Collum have had their say, with the latter admitting that John Beaton should have been advised by VAR to point to the spot.

The Ibrox club told Collum that the howler has “damaged the credibility” of Scottish football. And while Clement believes it’s down in black and white that his team were denied a chance to probably win the game from 12 yards, he did acknowledge the governing body admitting they’d messed up.

He said: “My team played well, they were strong after a strong performance also against Tottenham. Players, staff, fans, everyone was hurt after the match. You feel after the game the rules of the game are not followed, there was no grey area which was clear after this game.
