Breaking News:Leeds in mix to complete ‘excellent signing’ from Brentford – Elland Rd insider…
Paul Robinson believes Leeds United will be one of the teams looking to sign Brentford’s Fabio Carvalho in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old joined the Bees on a £27.5million deal during the summer [BBC Sport] but has only started three Premier League matches, prompting the player’s dad to tell him to leave [Yorkshire Evening Post].
It is understood that the Whites were in contention for Carvalho’s signature last January, as per LeedsLive, though a deal never materialised because of Liverpool’s contract stipulations.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “Leeds are in the mix, just look at the rumours that Leeds are linked with. Carvalho would be an excellent signing. Players like him would make the starting XI better.
“There’s no point in Daniel Farke bolstering his squad for the sake of it in January. If he signs players, it’ll be to get the team over the line at the end of the season. January is crucial to make those signings.
“Leeds are in the mix for those players of that ilk, and they could give the club the best opportunity to gain promotion.”
Leeds United to sign Fabio Carvalho during January transfer window?
Given Carvalho’s calibre, impressing during his time at Liverpool before embarking on a new journey, it seems like a simple decision to get the forward on board in January.
Midfielder Brenden Aaronson has somewhat struggled to hold down the attacking midfielder position, and with Joel Piroe being in and out of the team, the Brentford man could be the perfect addition.
The Portuguese star proved himself in the Championship when being loaned out to Hull City for the second half of the 2023/24 campaign, where he notched nine goals and two assists in 20 appearances.
The Yorkshire club will be hoping he can rediscover similar form if he comes to Elland Road in January.
