David Moyes accepted Wolves offer in new manager twist

David Moyes is not expected to join Wolves if the club parts ways with Gary O’Neil, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the former West Ham boss isn’t “overly keen on Wolves.”

The 61-year-old has been out of work since the summer when his time as the Hammers boss ended, and although he’s available a move to Molineux doesn’t appear to be on the cards.

Current Wolves manager O’Neil is under serious pressure from the club’s hierarchy due to their difficult start to the season which has left them 19th in the Premier League.

Another poor result for the Midlands giants could force the owners to act, and Moyes is a potential target to replace O’Neil.

However, well-placed sources have told Football Insider that he isn’t going to rush into another job unless he feels it’s right for him.

David Moyes isn’t expected to take over a Wolves

The Wolves managerial job is currently seen as a tough sell in football because of their league position, coupled with the small squad size and lack of budget.

Anyone who potentially replaces O’Neil will be working on a shoestring budget to try and keep the team up.

Moyes had the option to take charge at Leicester City before Ruud Van Nistelrooy, but he wasn’t enthused by that option either.

Moyes’ stock remains high in football after the work he did at West Ham, which has led to him being linked with various teams.

However, Football Insider revealed that the Scotsman would be open to a sensational return to Everton if Sean Dyche is dismissed.
