Everton will not allow £15m player to leave in January after impressing Sean Dyche at Finch Farm
Sean Dyche will more than likely be hoping to see new faces land on Merseyside over the January transfer window.
Sitting down in 15th, there are clearly a lot of areas for Everton to improve with the threat of relegation a serious concern for the Toffees.
The Friedkin Group have plans in place at Everton with the takeover expected to be completed next week.
And the January window will offer them their first opportunity to put their stamp on the Everton squad.
But there is one player who will not be departing Goodison Park next month as Dyche has made it clear his future remains on Merseyside,
Sean Dyche insists Youssef Chermiti won’t leave Everton
Michael Keane is not expected to leave Everton in January, despite his contract coming to an end in the summer.
And during Thursday’s press conference at Finch Farm, Dyche assured fans that striker Youssef Chermiti is not heading out the door next month.
“No. His first steps are on the way now. In fact, he’s more than on his way, he completed a game the other day and did very well,” he said.
“You know, I still think he’s a developing player. We want him to be apart of our group, he had a very good pre-season but he was unfortunate to get the injury which he got.
“And he’s worked very hard to get fit, so we’ll take it as an ongoing basis, but he’s training very well and working hard.”
Dyche has sung Chermiti’s praises since he landed on Merseyside with the Everton boss liking what he has seen in his small number of appearances,
And despite having a difficult period in his career, those at Everton are keen to see Chermiti flourish at Goodison.
