Tottenham announces return of Cristian Romero this week to play against Bournemouth
Tottenham Hotspur have had to deal with a number of injury issues this season.
The North Londoners have consistently been inconsistent this campaign. From the highs of destroying Manchester City to losing against Ipswich Town at home, Spurs fans have seen it all in recent months.
When Tottenham have everyone fit and available, they are a very difficult side to beat. Ange Postecoglou’s attacking system can be too much for any club in the country.
Injuries have prevented Spurs from doing the above, but there could finally be some good news coming Tottenham fans’ way now.
Cristian Romero could return for Bournemouth vs Tottenham
Cristian Romero is usually one of the first names on the team sheet for Tottenham.
The Argentine is the club’s vice-captain, and he has produced several excellent performances in the famous white shirt over the years.
Things have not been great for the ‘terrific’ Romero this season – he made plenty of mistakes. But, the World Cup winner is still a key member of Postecoglou’s side.
Tottenham have been without the defender in their last two Premier League games. Romero had been struggling with a toe injury, but he could be back now.
Football London claim that Romero did not train with the first team last week, but he is due to do so this week.
It has been revealed that Romero being in the squad against Bournemouth is a ‘possibility’, which is great news for Tottenham fans.
After the draw against Fulham on Sunday, even Postecoglou hinted at Romero’s availability. “Potentially (he will be available vs Bournemouth) mate,” he said, as per Football London.
“He still hasn’t trained with the team, so he’s getting closer but he still hasn’t trained with the team. So, him and Micky are still working with the sports science staff. So, hopefully, not too far away.”
