Breaking News:Rangers ready to sell Ianis Hagi in £1.6m deal as family friend speaks out…
Adrian Ilie has backed Ianis Hagi to leave Rangers and revitalise his career with Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 26-year-old was introduced at Ibrox in the 1-1 draw against Dundee United on Saturday [23 November] in only his third appearance for the Gers this year since his contract was resolved [Daily Record].
However, Ilie, a close family friend of the Hagi’s, was quoted by the Daily Record [26 November, pg48] and shared that a move to the Bundesliga could be on the cards for the Romanian to end his woes at Ibrox.
He said: “I know there are teams from Germany who are interested in Ianis. Borussia Monchengladbach are the main club.
“It would be better for him to sign for a team who are in the middle positions in the Bundesliga, such a move would be good for him.
“Maybe we will have a discussion with his agent about it. I also discussed the situation with Gheorghe. Ianis has to come in to play a few more matches but there are Bundesliga teams that could pay for a transfer for him.
“I believe his club are asking for two million Euros. I think somewhere around that figure. The transfer would do him good. Give him a year to settle into football in Germany and watch him go.”
Rangers should sell Ianis Hagi
Gheorge recently spoke out about his desire to see his son depart Ibrox this season, and now, with genuine interest in his signature, it seems inevitable Hagi is on his way out the door.
Philippe Clement has shown his hand, opting to introduce Hagi off the bench – even in the absence of Tom Lawrence – it is clear the Belgian has no place for him in his Ibrox plans.
However, a move to the Bundesliga in a potential £1.6 million deal would be excellent business for all parties.
The Gers could desperately use the funds to attack the January transfer window, and Hagi would, admittedly, take the step up to a more illustrious division.

His performances with the national side in the UEFA Nations League are demonstrable of his apparent quality, and while his opportunities remain limited in Glasgow, his entourage are pushing hard to make a deal happen.
Hagi possesses too much quality to waste away in the dugout at Ibrox.
