Shocking news:Rangers want new Joe Gelhardt clause in bid to sign Leeds United striker…
Rangers would favour a loan with an option to buy Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt in January, according to TEAMtalk.
The online outlet reported on 27 November that the 22-year-old has been told that he can go out on a temporary deal in the winter window.
The Gers are one team maintaining an interest but may not be able to match an asking price with the striker’s contract not running out until 2027.
Rangers want Joe Gelhardt on loan from Leeds United
There is no doubt that Philippe Clement needs goals in his side after a difficult start to the season which has left them off the pace in the Scottish Premiership.
Cyriel Dessers has continued his up-and-down form into this campaign while Hamza Igamane has failed to have any true impact in Govan.
Danilo is slowly returning and has featured in recent weeks but after such a lengthy injury, relying on the Brazilian would prove to be a risk.
This could see the Gers make a move for a number nine in January and Gelhardt could prove to be an ideal loan option.
The ex-Wigan Athletic youngster has plenty of experience in the Championship which could translate well to Scottish football.
