SHOCKING NEWS:Philippe Clement receive a heartbreaking contract announcements….
It remains to be seen whether Philippe Clement can cling onto his job after more dropped points last weekend.
The gap to the top of the table is now 11 points and it is difficult for any Rangers manager to survive that and that will especially be the case if things get any worse.
For now, there doesn’t seem to have been any urgency to make a change in the manager’s chair but Gers now have a new CEO in Patrick Stewart and are expected to make a chairman appointment in the coming weeks.
The new men could be faced with a big decision if there are any more dropped more points in the league.
Derek McInnes would be Rangers’ only option
Attention has already turned to who could be the potential replacement if the Ibrox managerial post becomes vacant.
Kevin Muscat is one who has been heavily mentioned after previously getting down to the final two before being snubbed for Clement.
The Aussie has since moved to Shanghai Port in China and has just won a Super League and Chinese Cup double.
Many feel he would be a good fit for Rangers but his pal Craig Moore isn’t so sure he would be interested after being turned down before and now finding a home in Shanghai.
He feels Muscat will carry on in his current role after being left “disappointed” to miss out on the Rangers job last time out.
And for Moore the only live option for Gers should they decide to get rid of the Belgian would be Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes.
He told the Go Radio Football Show: “He is doing brilliantly. His Asian experience is going to continue. I don’t see how anything would fall into place.
“I think there is only one option if Rangers pull the trigger, and it’s a domestic option of Derek McInnes.
