Deal confirmed: Rangers has finally made up they mind by bringing him back due to…
Rangers have been backed to beat Crystal Palace to a January transfer signing.
The Light Blues are struggling on the park domestically right now, currently 11 points behind Celtic who lead the Premiership, with Aberdeen in second a whole eight ahead. It could mean reinforcements in January for boss Philippe Clement to try and get things going.
Former goalkeeper Paul Robinson has noted speculation surrounding Rangers possibly signing Peterborough United attacker Kwame Poku, who has just six months left on his deal. That could make him available for pre-contract talks or available at a cut-price deal if a new contract can’t be sorted.
With Crystal Palace at the wrong end of the English Premier League table, former Blackburn and Tottenham keeper Robinson reckons that they will target outside of the bracket Poku finds himself in.
That leaves the door ajar for Rangers to come in and pounce. He told Football Insider: “They’re linked with good young players, but they’re not January signings.
“If Palace are in trouble and they’re in the bottom three, they’re not going to spend X amount of money on Poku to score 10-15 goals between now and the end of the season.
“He’s a player that may take time to adapt, not one that’s going to have immediate impact. The players we’re talking about are 20-23 years old, they’re not who you want to be thrown into what may be a relegation battle. It’s a big ask for players of that age and with that experience.“
