SHOCKING NEWS: Leeds united loses a key player to the JANUARY transfer window…
Leeds United loanee Sam Greenwood is one of just a handful of positives for Paul Heckingbottom at Preston North End right now.
Greenwood made the season-long-switch to Deepdale in the summer and after a difficult start to life at the club, has really began to find his feet.
Jermaine Beckford does not see a future for Greenwood at Leeds but the 22-year-old is certainly doing his best to ensure that is not the case.
Heckingbottom told Greenwood to show more composure in the final third earlier in the season and it appears as though the former Leeds boss’ advice has worked.
Since returning from a three-match ban following his straight red card against Blackburn Rovers, Greenwood has been on fire.

PNE media react as Leeds loanee Greenwood scores again
Greenwood’s biggest problem at both Leeds and Middlesbrough was his inability to lock down his best position.
After finding the same issue early on at PNE, Greenwood has since been moved into a more attacking role, which is where he played in the academy at both Arsenal and Leeds.
Greenwood has been playing as part of a front two and since doing so has scored four goals and provided one assist in six matches, a period which PNE haven’t actually won a single game in.
And he continued his excellent run in front of goal in PNE’s 1-1 draw with Derby County on Saturday, thanks to a really well taken header.
The Lancashire Evening Post described his goal as ‘brilliantly’ taken and despite the frustrating result, was handed a decent rating of 7/10.
They wrote: “Took his header brilliantly. Then saw a powerful shot pushed behind. Wasn’t able to really get into the second half, but he wasn’t alone.”

Does Greenwood have a future at Leeds?
It feels unlikely Greenwood will ever be back in the fold at Leeds but if he continues this run of form then he may give Daniel Farke something to think about next summer.
