Breaking News: Lawrence shankland accept Rangers terms and conditions and Wil be joining Rangers on the 20th of January…
Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers could be set to end his exile from the Nigeria national side with manager Augustine Eguavoen ready to bring him into the fold, according to The Scottish Sun.
The Gers striker has made just six appearances for his country but now could be set to make his return to the setup after over two years away.
This comes after the Super Eagles suffered a “shock” 2-1 defeat against Rwanda on Monday (18 November) in their Africa Cup of Nations Qualification group.
Speaking after the loss, Nigeria boss Eguavoen said: “For this camp, I had to stick with the players I know. It would be difficult to play those I’ve not worked with previously because of the short time to prepare.
“When we have friendlies we will try to bring some new players like Cryriel Dessers and Chuba Akpom and work with them.”
Rangers star Cyriel Dessers may return to Nigeria duty
The 29-year-old hasn’t ever been the most popular of players in his spell at Ibrox despite being a regular goalscorer since signing.
This is due to the number of chances that the forward wastes which could ultimately transform the Gers into a side fighting closer to Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
With that being said, the Nigerian did register 22 goals in all competitions in his debut season for the Light Blues and has added to that with ten in 20 games so far this campaign.

As a result, it shouldn’t be too surprising that a return to the national side is on the cards although, the Super Eagles may not be in desperate need of a striker.

With Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface already at their disposal, Eguavoen already has two of Europe’s best number nines to
pick from.
There is no doubt the experience of playing for his national side again will be positive and Gers supporters will be hopeful it will hand Dessers a boost at club level.
