Exclusive: Aston Villa set to beat Man United to excellent La Liga ace with €80m release clause
Aston Villa are set for an uplift in revenue from their Adidas partnership after it was shared they could become an “elite” side for the German giant, Dan Plumley has said.
Footy Headlines reported that the Villans are set to become an elite team for Adidas and feature their Trefoil logo on the third shirt from next season, alongside the likes of Real Madrid.
Plumley, a football finance expert, admitted that is a testament to how far the club has come under Unai Emery, now shining in the Champions League to add great exposure.
“I would imagine so,” he exclusively told Villa News.
“I’ve not seen any exact figures in terms of what the uplift could be, but certainly we’ve seen it before with lots of sponsorship packages.
“You’ve got the gold-tier type sponsorship agreements that command more value so you would imagine whatever the current fee is, a little bit of an uplift on that.
Aston Villa development brilliant with Adidas
“That is a testament to how far Villa have come in the last couple of years, getting into the Champions League and producing some amazing performances in that competition as well, really seem to be flying at the minute.
“That is where commercial deals can then gain you some extra value linked to what you are doing on the pitch because you can squeeze more out of them when performances are good as well.”
NSWE have a lot to thank Emery for, with the Spaniard transforming the club from top to bottom since his arrival at Villa Park, with this another cherry on top.
Having brought in more than £20million from the Champions League alone this season already, improvements to deals like the one with Adidas will only keep that revenue line flying high.
