END OF AN ERA:Julen Lopetegui is set to depart west ham United….
Tom Rennie has unleashed his West Ham United frustrations in a scathing rant directed at Julen Lopetegui.
The Hammers played out a 0-0 draw against Everton at the London Stadium on Saturday [9 November] as the pressure on Lopetegui intensifies heading into the international break.
talkSPORT broadcaster Rennie held nothing back in a scathing attack on the Irons boss via X [10 September], in replay to an article suggesting Tim Steidten and David Sullivan will discuss Lopetegui’s future this coming week.
He said: “I can’t think of one positive from having Lopetegui in charge for a quarter of the season. Not one. No player has excelled, no performance stands out, no goal was particularly memorable. I couldn’t tell you his style, or what he’s trying to do. I am stunned at how bad he is.”
Is it time for West Ham United to part ways with Julen Lopetegui?
West Ham fans may finally be granted their wish heading into the international break with David Sullivan set to hold talks with Tim Steidten to discuss Lopetegui’s future at the London Stadium [The Times].
The David Moyes predecessor has failed to impress in East London and, with only three wins in 11 Premier League matches, his side is only five points from safety and could well be drawn into a relegation battle this season.
While the supporters will have expected a period of transition under the manager, the club has regressed far below the expectations heading into the campaign and the previous claims of a European finish now look farcical.
