Breaking News:Daniel Farke confirm the suspension of Patrick Bamford just now…
Leeds United star Patrick Bamford will miss their match against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday through illness, Beren Cross has been told.
The LeedsLive journalist posted on X ahead of the 2 November clash after the Whites named their side to face the Pilgrims at Elland Road, with Bamford and fellow striker Joe Gelhardt both absent.
Bamford, Gelhardt and Daniel James were already racing the clock to be available for Daniel Farke’s side, but while James has overcome a hamstring issue to start, Bamford’s illness rules him out of contention.
Patrick Bamford suffers yet another setback at Leeds United
Bamford and James have both missed plenty of football so far this season with respective injury issues, but the latter being fit to face the Pilgrims shows the bounce-back-ability of the Welsh winger.
However, that’s something Bamford hasn’t possessed for quite some time, with the 31-year-old seemingly always out with an injury or making his way back from another when crisis strikes again.

Now firmly third choice in the pecking order of strikers at Elland Road, United’s number nine faces a battle to get back into contention, and seemingly continual injury setbacks are not helping his cause.
The Peacocks should still have enough in their squad with the likes of Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph in their ranks to lead the line; both strikers scoring a handful between them so far this season.
Farke will want to get to the last international break of the year with no new injury worries in his squad, with Largie Ramazani, Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu all having big issues already.
