BREAKING NEWS:Gary O’Neil receive a heartbreaking contract announcement few minutes ago…
The Eagles travel to Molineux for a traditional six-pointer in the Premier League, with Wolves still searching for a first league win of the season, while Crystal Palace must build on Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham, which was incidentally our first league win of the 2024/25 campaign.
Oliver Glasner has also overseen a Carabao Cup win over Aston Villa since that successful London derby – so momentum is certainly building at Selhurst Park after a tough start.
Now – however – Gary O’Neil has made a strange comment about Wolves vs Crystal Palace which should perhaps alarm supporters over at Molineux.
Gary O’Neil says Crystal Palace clash is not a must-win for Wolves
Weirdly, the 41-year-old does not believe his side need to win Crystal Palace, despite the fact it would signal ten Premier League games without victory should Wolves fail to secure three points on Saturday.
The Express & Star quote O’Neil as saying: “I know there will be a lot made of the next games, but they’re not must-wins.”
That remark could lull Wolves into a false sense of security on Saturday, which Glasner will hopefully take full advantage of.
Eberechi Eze namedropped by Gary O’Neil
While O’Neil attempted to play down the significance of Saturday, he also opted to single the £17m man Eberechi Eze out as one to watch.
The man born in Beckenham added: “Crystal Palace are good. They spent £30m on a striker from Arsenal (Eddie Nketiah) and Eze is pretty good!
“We need to be ready in every game and we want to win.”
As you may recall, Crystal Palace delivered a fantastic display in our last visit to Molineux, with goals from Michael Olise, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Eze securing a 3-1 win.
