UNBELIEVABLE NEWS:Tottenham Hotspur announced the return of former key player…
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed an interesting team news ahead of Crystal Palace.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that skipper Son Heung-min will miss their trip to Selhurst Park this weekend. Son was back among the goals against West Ham, but he missed the Europa League game against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday – raising doubts about his fitness.
Spurs have won their last two games and head to Selhurst as heavy favourites, but they will have to do so without their captain. Postecoglou confirmed in his pre-game press conference that Son is not ready for this match.
The Spurs boss said: “Last night, all good, no issues, but obviously a bit of fatigue with some of the boys as they haven’t played for a while, but all good. Sonny is still not right or feeling 100%. He won’t train today, so he’s unlikely to play this weekend, and we’ll see how he is beyond that.”
Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace preview
The nightmare start to the season for Palace continued on Monday night when they lost to Nottingham Forest, and now they face an in-form Tottenham side boosted by a 4-1 win against West Ham last weekend. Oliver Glasner’s side ARE hoping to have Cheick Doucouré back for the first time in four weeks, and his return could lead to changes in their midfield, with Jefferson Lemar likely to move back into defence, while Adam Wharton could play alongside Eberechi Eze and the returning Doucouré.
For Spurs, it will be interesting to see how the absence of Son affects the set-up, with Dejan Kulusevski now enjoying a role as a number 10, while Timo Werner continues to struggle in front of goal. The Spurs manager might be tempted to play Mikey Moore, who excelled in the second half against AZ Alkmaar. Richarlison, who scored the winner in midweek, is also pushing for a start, and it will be interesting to see if he lines up alongside Dominic Solanke.
