Shocking news: Rangers announced a new ownership..
Joan Jordan has not rejected the chance to sign for Rangers and hasn’t even spoken to Sevilla about the possibility, according to ABC in Spain.
The outlet reported via their website on 29 July that the experienced midfielder’s entourage claim they were not even aware an Ibrox switch was on the table despite reports that the 30-year-old had rejected a loan-to-buy move with a €4million [£3.37m] option.
Jordan is stuck in a difficult situation at Sevilla where, barring an unexpected turnaround, he won’t play for the club again and has been frozen out of preseason use.
The relationship appears to be broken as communication between the Spaniard and sporting director Victor Orta is said to be non-existent and is not helping find a solution after a loan offer from Alaves was rejected for covering barely any of his wages.
Philippe Clement targets senior Rangers midfielder
Rangers Review reported on 28 July that the Light Blues were not going to sign Jordan and were moving onto other targets.
That came after multiple offers had been made from Ibrox as they upped the percentage of the wages they were willing to cover [Fernando Serrano, 24 July].
It had appeared that Jordan had joined the likes of Jose Cordoba and Yusuf Kabadayi in turning down the Light Blues despite substantial commitment to the pursuits.
But if he actually has no knowledge of the matter it would suggest both that he not follow reports about himself but Sevilla have not been communicating the situation to him.
