BREAKING NEWS:Wolves fc vs Manchester City kick-off time has been postponed…
Manchester City return to Premier League action this weekend with a trip to bottom-of-the-table Wolves.
The Blues are unbeaten and could end the weekend top depending on how Arsenal and Liverpool fare. Pep Guardiola’s side will be heavy favourites against a Wolves side with just one point from seven matches.
City remain without Kevin De Bruyne although he is back in training. Nathan Ake is set to travel but is unlikely to start. Rodri and Oscar Bobb are long-term absentees while Manuel Akanji picked up a knock on international duty with Switzerland.
It would seem unnecessary to risk the defender at Molineux with seven games in three completions in three weeks on the horizon and so John Stones could come in to partner Ruben Dias at the back.
Josko Gvardiol has made the left back slot his own while Rico Lewis has shown the better form on the right. Ederson will start in goal despite being in international action with Brazil in midweek.
But that fixture might mean Savinho is among the subs further up the pitch with Jack Grealish, fresh from a goalscoring appearance for England, Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva the men most likely to play behind Erling Haaland. In Rodri’s absence, Mateo Kovacic and Ilkay Gundogan can anchor the midfield.
Predicted City XI: Ederson, Lewis, Dias, Stones, Gvardiol, Kovacic, Gundogan, Foden, Bernardo, Grealish, Haaland
