BREAKING News;Rangers fc losses a key player to the transfer window few minutes ago

Philippe Clement has been coy about potential Rangers signings as he targets players who can improve the quality of the starting XI.

The manager knows that the younger new recruits need a helping hand even if players like Connor Barron and Mohamed Diomande have been the best players in pre-season.

Vaclav Cerny is the first, almost guaranteed, starter to arrive at Ibrox this summer but it looks like two more could be on the cards with a decent bid for a new winger also reported.

Rangers to make more signings

Talks with Sevilla seem to have gone well to the extent that an agreement has been reached for Joan Jordan.

An initial loan with an option to buy clause of £3.3m puts Rangers in a good position to fill a much needed hole at the base of the midfield, however, there are now reports that the proposed deal is dead.

When asked if there were more new arrivals in the way after the entertaining 4-4 draw with Union Berlin, Clement replied:

“That is a good question as a journalist but you know I can’t answer that because as long as there is no pen on paper, there is nothing in this world.

Rangers fail in Gonçalo Borges bid

According to the Record Portugal via Daily Dragoes, a website that reports news for Porto, Rangers have bid in the region of £5m for Gonçalo Borges.

The 23-year old right-winger has been on the fringes of Porto’s first-team for last few years but there is rationale for justifying this sort of fee.

As an example, Jota had a similar record at Benfica and cost the sort of fee that Rangers are said to have offered for Borges.

Transfer valuations and fees are on the rise and Porto are entitled to look for this sort of money for a backup player given what is routinely paid around the top five leagues – if it is correct.
