Exclusive: West Ham open Fin Herrick talks
West Ham are in talks with Fin Herrick over a new contract, sources have told Football Insider.
The goalkeeper, 18, is highly regarded within the corridors of power at the London Stadium after coming through the club’s famed academy.
Herrick was part of the Under-18s squad that won the FA Youth Cup and the U18 Premier League South in 2022-23.
The England Under-19 international signed his first professional contract with West Ham ahead of the 2023-24 season and the club are keen to reward him with a new long-term deal.

Playing in the Premier League 2, England’s most prestigious youth competition, the ‘keeper has conceded seven goals across five appearances, keeping three clean sheets in the process.
The Under-21s are fairing better than the senior side, and currently sit in third place with 15 points, level with league leaders Man City after their first six league games.
They did fall to a heavy 4-1 defeat to City on Saturday (October 5) with Herrick conceding more goals in that one game has he had in their previous five.
Like their senior counterparts, the academy sides are away for the international break, with Mark Robson’s young side set to take on 18th-placed Wolves once they return.
Speaking to The Athletic, the 28-year-old spoke about the Premier League club in glowing terms and insisted current manager Julen Lopetegui needs time to be a success.
When asked about his relationship with the club, the midfielder said, “I watch every match. If it clashes with my games, I watch the highlights.
“My son loves West Ham and always does the Irons sign. The other day we played Getafe and he wanted to wear a West Ham shirt, instead of the Real Betis jersey!”
It’s been an underwhelming start to life at the club for Lopetegui, sitting in 12th after winning two, drawing two, and losing three of their opening seven Premier League games.
