Breaking News:Ianis Hagi receives gifts as Rangers star present at open training for Romania
Rangers star Ianis Hagi was given gifts by young supporters on international duty with Romania, according to Radio Romania Actualitati.
The Romanian outlet reported on 8 October that Hagi and fellow midfielder Nicolae Stanciu received gifts after an open training session held in Mogosoaia, with 500 fans present.
Hagi was given a personalised bracelet by a young supporter, having joined up with the Romania side following his eventful return to the Gers’ first-team against St Johnstone on 6 October.
Rangers need to see the best of Ianis Hagi on international duty
Following a summer in which he had been all but frozen out of the first-team picture at Ibrox by Philippe Clement, Hagi was finally given his chance to impress off the bench against St Johnstone.
Initially, he did, setting up Vaclav Cerny’s goal after 58 minutes to seal a 2-0 win, but with just nine left on the clock, the 25-year-old’s lunge on Benjamin Mbunga Kimpioka was upgraded to a red card by VAR.
Heading out on international duty with Romania, who face Cyprus and Lithuania, could be the best way for Hagi to put an eventful yet erratic Ibrox return behind him and build up a head of steam instead.
He won’t be able to play in either of the Gers’ upcoming matches against Kilmarnock and St Mirren, but a clash against high-flying Aberdeen may provide the perfect stage for Hagi to show his form.
Playing two full 90 minutes for Romania, with those gifts from young fans firmly on his mind, could prove to be just what Hagi needs to finally get his Light Blues career back up and running.
