The injury front at Elland Road is not good reading but it appears Liam Cooper is having similar luck out n Bulgaria with new side CSKA Sofia, since his exit from Leeds United.

Stuart Dallas retired and plenty more left at the end of their deals. Robin Koch’s move to Frankfurt was made permanent and he has since been joined by Rasmus Kristensen, the duo impressing in Germany.

After 10 years and 284 appearances for Leeds, Cooper left Elland Road at the end of his deal. A massive player in the club’s recent history, he goes down as a legend for captaining Leeds to promotion in 2020.

Now, he is in Bulgaria with historic European giants CSKA Sofia. A woeful start to the season has CSKA sitting way down the table, but Cooper made his debut on September 21 and helped keep a clean sheet.

Liam Cooper now set to fly back to England on Monday

The Leeds icon was in the starting line-up for a second time on Saturday, but the Scotland international lasted just 24 minutes before being withdrawn. The scoreline against Septemvri was 0-0 when subbed.

But CSKA Sofia’s poor start to the season continued when without Cooper, the Bulgarian giants suffered a 1-0 defeat at home. Afterwards, CSKA’s website confirmed Cooper’s injury status following his early exit.

It has been a busy weekend for those that have left Leeds over the weekend. Jack Harrison helped Everton pick up a point against Newcastle United, but on-loan Harrison has gone eight months without a goal.
