Roy Aitken and Stiliyan Petrov help Celtic make superb gesture in the final stage of US Tour

Celtic ended the final stage of the US Tour with a superb 4-1 win over Chelsea in Indiana last night.

Brendan Rodgers’ side will return to Scotland after the three-fixture tour which saw Celtic defeat DC United, beat Man City and also teach Enzo Maresca’s team a lesson as they gave the Stateside fans a footballing treat.

The great work on the pitch has been matched with Celtic’s business off it as they raised the club’s profile with a visit to The White House, taking in a Major League baseball game and, of course, extending their charitable arm across The Pond.

We have discussed previously how Celtic has donated $10,000 to Washington DC charity SOME and to Chapel Hill outreach program PORCH as the Foundation does some excellent work in the local communities on each stop of the tour.

And now in Indiana, Roy Aitken and Stiliyan Petrov helped to present Celtic’s final charity pledge to another worthy cause.

Celtic donate $10,000 to Cultivate Rescue

Cultivate Rescue is a charity that helps serve 63,000 people who face a financial struggle to afford to put food on the table.

The charity aims to reduce food waste by cooking, packaging and freezing unused food before distributing it to the struggling local communities and to aid with that, the club made a substantial donation to this superb cause.

The charity serves local churches, food banks, homeless shelters and schools as it looks after the most vulnerable members of their society.

Once again Celtic has provided some much-needed support to charitable causes through the arm of the Foundation which helps further bolster the club’s roots and reputation in the US.

The Celtic Foundation has raised millions of pounds for charities in Scotland, the UK, Europe and beyond since it was set up in 2013 and it’s great to see them continue their great work.
