50-year-old manager spotted in the stands watching Nottingham Forest vs Fulham

50-year-old manager spotted in the stands watching Nottingham Forest vs Fulham

Nottingham Forest suffered their first defeat of the season last time out against Fulham, which happened to be witnessed by a recognised manager in the stands.

Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side put in a Steve Cooper-esque performance against Fulham on Saturday, but it was the officiating which left the sour taste in the mouths of Nottingham Forest fans.

Murillo was involved in an incident where he stood on the back of an attacker’s heel, which the referee deemed to be a penalty.

Dermot Gallagher and Dean Ashton gave their thoughts on the Murillo incident on Ref Watch and both believed it was a penalty. This seems a little harsh considering he’s not even looking at the ball and other clubs have gotten away with far worse in the Premier League already this season.

There was another manager in the stands watching Nottingham Forest vs Fulham, and it would be interesting to know his opinion on things.

Lee Carsley spotted watching Nottingham Forest vs Fulham

Lee Carsley is fresh off a stint as England boss, as the FA look to appoint a replacement after Gareth Southgate’s departure after the Euros.

The 50-year-old called Morgan Gibbs-White up to his England squad recently, but he wasn’t on display after being given his marching orders against Brighton.

Interestingly, footage appeared of him in the stands on X at the City Ground, (as per Peacock).

It remains to be seen as to who he might have been watching.

We can only speculate with names such as James Ward-Prowse, Elliot Anderson, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Emile Smith Rowe.

Lee Carsley’s current managerial situation

England played some attractive football at times against the Republic of Ireland and Finland.

However, it remains to be seen as to whether he will land the permanent job.

One player who will be hoping he does is Morgan Gibbs-White, who has a great relationship with Carsley after their work together in the Under-21s side.
